Quotation format
Prepare a clear electrical wiring quotation for homes, shops, offices, and commercial sites. Separate labour, wire sizes, conduits, switches, distribution boards, earthing, testing, GST, and project terms — then share it from TiBook or download Word, Excel, or PDF.
A light point and a dedicated AC circuit are not the same job. TiBook keeps each point type, material line, and tax split on the quote, then converts the accepted quotation into a GST invoice without retyping the work.
Quotations are on the free Startup plan. No credit card.
Sample layout. 40% advance · copper rates valid 15 days · chasing excluded unless listed.
An electrical wiring quotation format is the pre-work cost proposal electricians and electrical contractors use to lock scope, specifications, quantities, rates, labour, materials, and commercial terms before a site is energised.
Unlike a general construction estimate, electrical quotes usually mix point-wise rates with measured materials. A light point, fan point, 6A socket, 16A power socket, AC point, or geyser point is often priced per point. Wires, cables, conduits, trays, earthing conductors, and accessories are priced by metre, coil, number, set, or lump sum.
The format only works if it states what one “point” includes — wire size, conduit, box, switch, earth, and labour — so the client is not surprised when copper, chasing, or switchgear is billed extra.
Choose the format that suits site measurement, rate calculation, editing, and client sharing — or skip the file and create the quotation in TiBook.
Best when the quotation needs long scope notes, brand clauses, exclusions, warranty, and approval fields. Easy to customise as a contractor proposal.
Best when you have many point categories and material quantities. Formulas handle quantity × rate, labour totals, discounts, GST, and the grand total after a site recount.
Best for the version you send for acceptance. Layout stays fixed for WhatsApp, email, print, and project records. TiBook exports PDF from the same quotation you edit online.
Add points and materials, apply GST, share by email or SMS, and convert the accepted quote into an invoice. Free on Startup.
Create quotation onlineNote building type, floors, room layout, concealed or surface wiring, supply phase, existing wiring, ceiling height, and access. Occupied homes and live commercial sites take more labour than a vacant slab.
Split light, fan, 6A socket, 16A power, AC, geyser, exhaust, bell, data, outdoor, and dedicated appliance points. One blended rate hides the expensive circuits.
Write wire sizes in sq. mm, cable type, conduit, boxes, switch range, DB ways, MCB or RCCB, earthing material, and approved brands or equivalents. TiBook can save these as reusable items.
Show unit, quantity, rate, amount, labour vs material supply, testing, transport, GST, and any separate charges. Let TiBook calculate quantity × rate, discount, and tax.
Confirm exclusions, validity, payment milestones, execution time, variation rates, client responsibilities, warranty, and handover. Share by email or SMS, or download PDF. When the client accepts, convert the quotation to an invoice.
A practical quotation should show what each point or system includes. Figures below are sample layout only — replace quantities and rates after your site measurement.
| S.No. | Description / specification | Unit | Qty | Rate (₹) | Amount (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Light point wiring with 1.5 sq. mm copper, PVC conduit, box, modular switch and accessories | Point | 18 | 450 | 8,100 |
| 2 | Fan point with switch, regulator provision and ceiling connection | Point | 6 | 550 | 3,300 |
| 3 | 6A socket point with modular switch/socket and wiring | Point | 12 | 500 | 6,000 |
| 4 | 16A power point / dedicated appliance point | Point | 8 | 750 | 6,000 |
| 5 | AC point with 2.5 / 4 sq. mm circuit as specified | Point | 3 | 1,800 | 5,400 |
| 6 | 12-way DB with incomer, MCB/RCCB provision and circuit labelling | Set | 1 | 8,500 | 8,500 |

Sample 3 BHK concealed copper wiring quotation (illustrative rates). GST shown at 18% for layout; confirm the notified rate for your HSN or SAC.
After the item table, add payment schedule, validity, estimated execution period, inclusions, exclusions, and a space for authorised acceptance. In TiBook those fields sit on the quotation with notes and terms, so you do not maintain a second Word file.
Contractor name, contact, GSTIN if registered, client name, site address, quotation number, date, and drawing or scope reference.
Concealed conduit, surface conduit, PVC casing, or cable-tray routing. This changes labour, material, and civil coordination.
Keep standard light points separate from fan, 6A, 16A, AC, geyser, exhaust, bell, outdoor, and dedicated circuits.
Conductor type, size in sq. mm, insulation, brand or approved equivalent, and whether the rate includes neutral and earth.
Conduit type and size, junction and switch boxes, bends, saddles, couplers, glands, lugs, ferrules, and flexible lengths when included.
Modular range or approved brand, ratings, regulators, plates, and whether a premium range is priced separately.
DB type, number of ways, incomer, MCBs, RCCB/RCBO, surge protection if included, and circuit labelling.
Connection only vs new electrodes, pits, strips, conductors, clamps, testing, and interconnection with the distribution system.
Labour only, labour plus selected materials, or complete supply and installation. State who buys wires, switches, switchgear, conduits, and fixtures.
Continuity, polarity, insulation resistance, earthing verification, DB identification, energisation support, snag correction, and handover notes.
GST, payment milestones, validity, execution period, warranty, variation-work rates, and exclusions such as wall chasing, making-good, scaffolding, fixture supply, or statutory approvals.
Used for house and office wiring. Each point type has a rate based on assumed wiring length, wire size, conduit, box, switchgear, and labour. Define what one point includes.
The contractor supplies specified materials and installs them. Name brands or equivalents, quantities or point inclusions, transport, wastage, protection devices, testing, and upgrade rules.
The client supplies major materials. Quote labour by point or activity, chasing and conduit responsibility, tools, consumables, testing, rework, overtime, and whether fixture hanging is included.
Common on larger commercial jobs. Cable, conduit, tray, DBs, termination, glands, earthing strips, and fixtures are measured separately — metre, number, set, job, or lump sum.
A standard light point and a dedicated AC or geyser circuit do not share wire size, protection, or installation effort.
Concealed work needs conduit routing, box fixing, chasing, and making-good decisions. Surface work depends on conduit, casing, or tray.
Copper content, conductor size, cable type, route length, phase, and brand drive the material line.
DB size, circuit count, MCB mix, RCCB/RCBO, surge protection, isolators, and phase balancing move the total.
Tying into an existing earth is different from new pits, conductors, strips, electrodes, testing, and interconnections.
Occupied premises, high ceilings, limited shutdown windows, old wiring removal, scaffolding, and working-hour limits increase labour.
State whether lights, fans, exhausts, sensors, dimmers, or premium modular ranges are supplied, installed only, or excluded.
Residential quotes usually focus on room-wise points, concealed conduits, modular switches, fan and lighting points, kitchen and appliance power, DB circuits, earthing connections, and coordination with interior or civil work.
Office, shop, warehouse, and commercial quotes may need higher point counts, three-phase distribution, cable trays, larger feeders, dedicated circuits, workstation sockets, emergency or signage circuits, panel coordination, and stricter testing or handover.
Keep these scopes explicit so a house-wiring quote does not get compared to a civil or full construction estimate.
When point counts, brands, or client requirements change, updating three Word versions is how rates drift. In TiBook you edit line items once, GST recalculates, you resend the quotation, and you convert the accepted quote into an invoice so billing matches the job you already priced.
