How this looks in TiBook
How to
- 1Open Reports and select Profit & Loss.
- 2Choose the date range (month, quarter, or financial year).
- 3Read income from sales and other revenue lines at the top.
- 4Review cost of goods and expenses below β purchases, operating expenses, and categories you track.
- 5The bottom line shows net profit or loss for that period.
How TiBook builds P&L
Sales and purchase invoices drive revenue and COGS. Expense entries add operating spend. Until Accounting is enabled, P&L is operational β not a full statutory books trial balance.
Accrual vs cash
P&L follows invoice dates, not bank clearance. A sale counts when invoiced; a payment changes cash, not necessarily the same dayβs profit.
Compare P&L month over month instead of one long year β trends are easier to act on.
If profit looks wrong, fix missing purchase bills and mis-categorised expenses first.
