How this looks in TiBook
How to
- 1Open Accounting → General Entries (or Journal).
- 2Click Create for a new journal voucher.
- 3Enter date and a clear narration (for example “March rent provision” or “Bank charges”).
- 4Add lines: pick an account, enter debit or credit amount. TiBook requires total debits = total credits before save.
- 5Save as draft or Post when ready. Posted entries hit ledgers and trial balance.
- 6To undo a mistake, use Reverse on the posted entry rather than editing history silently.
Balanced entries
Every journal must balance. A ₹10,000 debit to Rent Expense needs a ₹10,000 credit to Bank or Creditors on the same voucher.
Post vs draft
Drafts are for review. Post locks the entry into books. Reverse creates an opposite voucher linked to the original — preferred for audit trails.
One narration per business event — do not mix unrelated adjustments on one voucher.
Month-end accruals often repeat; copy last month’s pattern with new dates.
