How this looks in TiBook
How to
- 1Enable Accounting from Apps if you have not already.
- 2Open Accounting → Chart of Accounts.
- 3Browse groups (Cash, Bank, Debtors, Creditors, Sales, Purchases, Expenses, and custom heads).
- 4Add a new account under the right group — name it the way your CA recognises it.
- 5Avoid duplicate heads (“Office Exp” and “Office Expenses”) — one ledger per real account.
- 6Map operational defaults where TiBook offers links (for example bank accounts to Banking).
Structure matters
Trial balance and P&L in accounting mode depend on correct grouping. Assets and liabilities belong in balance-sheet groups; income and expense in P&L groups.
Starting mid-year
Your CA may supply an opening trial balance. Create matching accounts before you post opening journal entries.
Use account codes only if your firm already uses them — names matter more for daily entry.
Deactivate unused legacy accounts instead of deleting history.
