How this looks in TiBook
How to
- 1When adding or editing an item, set the primary unit — the unit you use most often on invoices (piece, kg, box, hour).
- 2If you also sell or stock in another unit, enable secondary unit.
- 3Enter the secondary unit name (for example case or dozen) and the conversion (how many primary units equal one secondary unit).
- 4On invoices and stock screens, pick the unit per line. Quantity and stock adjust using the conversion you defined.
- 5Save the item. Existing invoices keep the unit they used; edits do not rewrite old bills.
Common patterns
Retail: piece + case (12). Fabric: metre + roll. Services: hour + day. The primary unit should match what you count in stock if Manage stock is on.
Set conversion once on the item — staff should not mental-math cases at billing time.
If you only ever bill in one unit, skip secondary unit to keep the form short.
