How this looks in TiBook
How to
- 1From Items, open Categories or pick category while adding an item.
- 2Create categories that match how staff think β Beverages, Spare parts, Consulting, not only accounting codes.
- 3Assign each item to one category in the stepper or bulk-edit from the list.
- 4Upload an image on the item β product photo or icon. It shows in item details and some sales channels.
- 5Add a description for internal notes or customer-facing text where TiBook displays it.
- 6Save. Filter the item list by category when you stock-take one section of the shop.
Categories in daily use
Categories speed up POS tile layout, reports filtered by group, and imports that reference category names. They do not replace HSN or tax groups.
Images
Clear photos help counter staff pick the right variant. Large files slow uploads β compress before you add hundreds of SKUs.
Mirror your warehouse layout in category names so new staff find stock faster.
Use custom fields on items for attributes categories do not cover (colour, size code).

- Add a product or serviceOpen the item stepper from Items, choose product or service, set prices, tax, units, and stock so you can bill on the first invoice.
- Import items from ExcelUpload a spreadsheet of products and services instead of typing hundreds of rows in the item stepper.
- Custom fields on invoicesAdd printable fields such as PO number, vehicle number, or E-way bill reference on invoice PDFs and thermal receipts.
