How this looks in TiBook

How to

  1. 1Go to Billing & Spending β†’ Sales β†’ Sales Return (/voucher/sales_return).
  2. 2Click Create and select the customer who returned goods.
  3. 3Link or note the original invoice number in references or notes for audit.
  4. 4Add returned line items with quantity and rate (usually matching the original sale).
  5. 5Confirm tax reverses the same way as the sale β€” CGST+SGST or IGST per place of supply.
  6. 6Save the sales return. Stock increases for tracked items.
  7. 7Settle with a credit note or payment adjustment if your process requires a separate document.

Return vs credit note

Sales return documents physical goods coming back. Credit note is the common GST document to reduce what the customer owes. Many shops issue both β€” return for stock, credit note for accounts. Follow what your CA recommends.

Use the same HSN and tax rates as the original invoice to avoid mismatches in GSTR exports you file outside TiBook.
