How this looks in TiBook

How to

  1. 1Open Billing & Spending β†’ Purchase β†’ Purchase Return (/voucher/purchase_return).
  2. 2Click Create and select the supplier.
  3. 3Note the original purchase bill number in references or notes.
  4. 4Enter returned items and quantities. Rates should match the original purchase.
  5. 5Verify tax reversal matches the original inward supply.
  6. 6Save the purchase return. Stock reduces for tracked items.
  7. 7Follow up with a debit note if the vendor issues formal GST credit on their side.

Return vs debit note

Purchase return is your internal voucher for stock out to vendor. Debit note is the formal document to increase what the supplier owes you or reduce what you owe them. Many workflows use both together.

Attach the supplier’s credit memo reference in notes when you receive it.
