How this looks in TiBook
How to
- 1Open Billing & Spending β Sales β Sales Invoice.
- 2On the invoice row, open Actions and click + Add Payment.
- 3Enter Amount, Payment Date, and Payment Mode (cash, UPI, bank, cheque). Add notes if you need a UPI ref or cheque number.
- 4Click Save. The invoice status updates to paid when the amount covers the balance.
- 5For a partial receipt, add another payment later until the balance is zero.
- 6Customer outstanding on reports is invoice total minus recorded payments.
Mark paid vs payment entry
Mark as paid on save is a shortcut when you collected the full amount at billing time (common in retail and COD). Add payment later suits credit sales when money arrives days or weeks after the invoice.
Link payments to the correct invoice so ageing reports and party statements stay trustworthy.
Use Record payment in for bulk receipts not tied to one bill.
